The word Palanca literally means "plank" in Spanish. In the same way that plank exercises in physical therapy strengthen the body, our mission at Palanca is to "lift up" and empower patients in achieving rehabilitation from amputation or limb loss/deficiency. Cosi Belloso, MSPT and owner of Palanca, is thrilled to be working with the Renewal Rehab team. Cosi is a licensed physical therapist with over 15 years of experience working in various fields, including pediatrics, trauma, medical/surgical, orthopaedics, burn, stroke, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury. She has treated patients ranging in age from neonates to 99+ years old. Her passion for treating the amputee community began early in her career during her time working at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. When not at the clinic, Cosi is busy chasing after her four children, playing violin in the community, and running local races.
